Theme- Dinosaurs!

Supplies for Zoom meetings and challenges: paper, markers in bright or dark colors. Supplies for some of the challenges: plastic dinosaurs (optional), flour, salt, parchment paper, dirt or sand or flour, rocks, leaves, a shallow container or tray.

Challenge: Research a dinosaur that begins with the third letter in your name (count 1, 2, 3, starting with your magic letter to find the third letter in your name). Find 3 interesting facts about your dinosaur. You are welcome to share your research with the class at tomorrow’s Zoom. Ms. Rocio and I will do it too! (Cognitive)

Bonus: Draw a picture of your third letter dinosaur. Please use bright or dark markers so we can see your drawing on Zoom. Pencils and soft colors are difficult to see. (Fine Motor)

*Extra- YouTube link for the song, “We are the dinosaurs”. This is a great song to stomp around to like a dinosaur. (Language, listening, and motor skills)

Challenge: Separate your herbivore (plant eating) dinosaurs from your carnivore (meat eating) dinosaurs. You will need to research what they ate. You can write the word PLANTS on one piece of paper and write the word MEAT on another piece of paper to separate them. If you do not have dinosaurs you can research some dinosaurs and place a rock, shell, bead, etc. or draw a check mark on the paper to represent them. Did you find more herbivores or carnivores? (Cognitive)

Bonus: Were any of your dinosaurs omnivores (ate both plants and meat)?

Challenge: Create your own dinosaur habitat. Fill a tray or shallow container with sand, dirt or flour. Add leaves, rocks and your dinosaurs. Have fun playing with it! (cognitive, sensory, fine motor, science and discovery)

 Friday: May 22, No Zoom Meeting

Challenge: Make your own salt dough trace fossils. (cognitive, science, sensory and fine motor development) You will need: plastic dinosaurs (optional), salt, flour and parchment paper. Have fun! If you do not have dinosaurs you can use anything you like to make prints in the salt dough. Maybe a small leaf?
