This week we began to talk about Lunar New Year. The big room was transformed into a Chinese restaurant and sensory activities that complement this holiday.
Dyllan shared her adventures she had with with Penny and Pipi over the weekend.
On Monday, we stimulated our fine motor skills by making Chinese lanterns. We used our scissor skills.
On Tuesday, we joined with the Owl class to make Lunar New year collages. We later hanged them in the big room to decorate.
On Wednesday, we celebrated Jordan’s birthday! We enjoyed delicious fruit cones and heard some of Jordan’s favorite books. Thank you Tamara for the delicious snack.
On Thursday, we had a special guest! Kevin Linker (Lola’s Dad) came to share some wonderful books with the class. He read Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beaty and Coco Channel by Isabel SAnchez Vegara. We also heard some of Lola’s funny favorite poems from Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. Thank you Kevin for stimulating the love of books in the Penguin class.
On Friday, We enjoyed watching the Lion Dancers performance and getting candy for good luck!
Have a wonderful weekend!
