Our curriculum includes plenty of time for self-directed activities, coupled with the guidance of teachers who understand child development and the skills children will need to move on to kindergarten. Music and the arts play a large role in a child’s experience at Calvary, with singing, art activities, storytelling, and dramatic play incorporated into every day. We adhere to a flexible daily schedule, one in which a child can play in small or large groups, choose activities throughout the day, and play outside. Children also have the chance to function in more formalized circle times, where he or she can be heard by teachers and classmates alike.

Each week the older children visit the Calvary Chapel, where they sing songs and listen to stories about God. The Chapel Program, taught by the Director, goes hand-in-hand with the curriculum. It focuses on units of study such as: friendship, sharing, helping others, families, and the world around us. In addition to teaching children life lessons through the Presbyterian tradition, Calvary joyfully welcomes families from all faiths as well as those without a faith practice.

Calvary has a calendar of long-standing holiday celebrations, including Passover, Chinese New Year, and Cinco de Mayo, and we also welcome families to introduce new traditions to the school.
