Calvary Preschool Program
As Calvary’s longest running program, the preschool classes serve children ages 3-5, in a morning program that runs Monday – Friday, 8:45 – 11:45. Children are grouped by age, with classes overseen by one team of teachers for the duration of the school year. Because of our open-classroom plan, children can mix frequently with the other classes, but they do the majority of their small group work with their individual class and often develop their closest relationships there.
During a typical preschool morning, children will arrive at school, greet their teachers, then enjoy a long period of self-directed play in the form of block building, dress-up, sensory experiences, open-ended puzzles and games, or involved art investigations. The class gathers for snack and group time, music and singing, reads at least one story together then plays on our spectacular rooftop playground for an extended period of time.
